FARMINGTON – Bert came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray about a year ago.
When he arrived he was only a kitten and has grown up here. Because he has never been in a home and only know the staff members as family, he tends to be a little shy with new people and gets overlooked when there are so many other cats at the shelter.
But once he becomes acquainted, he loves to play and cuddle. He would love to be in a home with other cats and would make a great companion for anyone in a calm home environment.
Anyone interested in adopting Bert should stop at the shelter or call 778-2638. Bert is also one of the shelter’s “Flavor of the Month” cats, and the adoption fee on him would be $35.
The shelter has many kittens, so donations of kitten food, litter and toys would help. In honor of the kittens, the shelter is hosting a kitten shower from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at the UMF North Dining Hall. There will be games and refreshments.
