AK League tournament this weekend in Leeds

LEEDS – The season-ending AK League 12-and-under ASA softball tournament will be held all day Saturday at the Stinchfield Sports Complex adjacent to Androscoggin Lake.

Game will begin promptly at 8 a.m., with teams playing a single-elimination tournament in a bracket based on their regular-season records. Weather permitting, the tournament is usually complete by 3 p.m.

Parents, grandparents and softball enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and support more than 200 softball players from the towns of Greene, Leeds, Hartford, Sabattus, Turner and Wales. AK League President Cindy Veilleux wishes to thank all the coaches and parents for the commitment to the athletes during a great learning season. Veilleux also announced that a Team Sportsmanship award will be presented Saturday.

The game site offers a picnic area along with access to swimming between games, and a snack shack also will be open. Please bring your own ice, water and a sun umbrella.
