BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – Kenny Cooper scored the game-winning goal as FC Dallas beat the Chicago Fire 3-2 Saturday before more than 13,000 fans at Toyota Park.

Cooper assisted on the first goal in the eighth minute and then scored the last one on a header in the 80th minute.

In the eighth minute, David Wagenfuhr passed the ball to Cooper, who forwarded it to Ramon Nunez.

Nunez dribbled and blasted a long shot into the bottom left corner of the net to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead.

Chicago’s Andy Herron challenged and beat FC Dallas keeper Dario Sala, tying the game at 1 in the 54th minute.

Six minutes later, Diego Gutierrez sent a long pass up the field to a sprinting Herron.

Herron beat FC Dallas defender Drew Moor and shot the ball between Sala and the post to give the Fire (5-7-5) a 2-1 lead.

United 3, Crew 2

WASHINGTON – Brian Carroll and Ben Olsen scored second-half goals, and D.C. United held on for a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night

Christian Gomez also scored for United (13-1-5), who won their sixth straight and pushed their unbeaten streak to 13 matches, the longest in club history.

Kei Kamara and Eric Vasquez scored for the Crew (4-8-6), who lost to D.C. for the second time in two weekends.

After a 1-1 first half, Carroll put United ahead for good on a brilliant 30-yard strike that skimmed off the underside of the crossbar and into the top right corner.

Olsen made it 3-1 in the 64th minute when he reached a loose ball in the penalty area and drove it inside the left post.

Vasquez brought Columbus back within one in the 72nd minute, scoring a one-timer from 25 yards off a square pass from Chris Leitch.
