LEWISTON – The Visible Community will host a community party from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Knox Street garden, Maple and Birch streets.

The party is free and open to the downtown community. There will be food, games for children and a short parade that will introduce everyone to some of the downtown neighborhood’s history and how it is changing.

The Visible Community is a group of downtown residents, businesspeople, community activists and other persons concerned about the quality of life in downtown Lewiston. It has been meeting for two years every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the B Street Center on the corner of Bates and Birch streets.

Projects include development of affordable housing in vacant buildings, particularly the Androscoggin Mill Block building at Park and Maple streets.
