NAPLES – If the biennial Naples Library Benefit House Tour were to have a theme, this year it would have to be “real life in Naples today.”

Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 27, the tour will feature 10 homes. The tour will start from the library.

Famed for its many beautiful lakes and ponds, Naples has long been a major attraction for those who love the water. This year, the tour will let participants see what life is like in a home on the water, not only on Sebago, but also on Long Lake and on quiet, secluded Peabody Pond.

Mountain views also are spectacular from many points in Naples. This year, two homes at the summit of Madison Heights will offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Mount Washington in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Three of the town’s bed and breakfasts – The Augustus Bove House, The Inn at Long Lake and the Lamb’s Mill Inn – have also agreed to open their doors.

Betsy Golon of Common Folk Farm will serve refreshments in her garden with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party theme. The herb and perennial gardens at the farm will be decorated, a croquet course set up, lemonade and cookies will be served and Alice and the Queen of Hearts will be there to preside over the “White Rabbit” table – a sale of unique one-of-a-kind items from the farm.

Reinhard Farms greenhouses are just across the street from the farm.

The Naples Golf and Country Club will have a House Tour Lunch available for purchase that day.

Tour tickets, $20 per person, are available at the public library. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of the tour.

For more information, call the library at 693-6841.
