LEWISTON – Lewiston Senior Citizens will hold Senior Fun Day on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Lost Valley. The theme is “Fiesta Time,” and cost is $12 a person.
There will be a costume contest with $10 prizes given for the winners of the following categories: Best Female Costume, Best Male Costume, Most Original and Craziest Costume.
Local businesses have donated items for the raffle table. There are gift certificates for meals, oil changes, a toaster oven, DVD player, can opener, blender, table lamp and basket of goodies. A Pot O Gold will also be available.
There will be cash prizes for winners of the following: water balloon toss, beanbag toss, pick-a-duck, pass the balloon and pass the orange. People can put their favorite senior in “jail” and raise money for the seniors when they are bailed out.
Rina Cloutier and her son, Brian, will entertain with fiesta music, line dancing favorites, rock n roll and sing-alongs.
The schedule will be as follows: 9 a.m., doors open to the public; 10 a.m., bingo and card playing begins; 11:30 a.m., inside/outside games; noon, costume contest followed by a hot dog and hamburger buffet.
Activities will resume at 1 p.m. when entertainment will be offered by Rina and Brian and more games, weather permitting; 1:45 p.m., drawing of some raffles; 2 p.m., Rina and Brian; 2:30 p.m., more drawing and Pot O Gold.
Tickets are on sale in the seniors office at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St., or see a board member. It is not necessary to be a member to attend. For more information, call 782-2926, ext. 207.
