AUBURN – Toastmasters International recently recognized the accomplishments of three of its local members. Jeanine Arey and Alice Flanders received Competent Toastmaster awards while Kathleen Szostek received the Competent Toastmaster and Competent Leader awards.

New officers were installed for the upcoming year: president, Janice Gould; vice president of education, Joyce Kennedy; vice president of membership, Jeanine Arey; vice president of public relations, Rita Myrick; treasurer, Dick Gould; and sergeant-at-arms, Jeanine Arey, with Rita Myrick as backup.

Beverly Jordan was voted in as a new member.

L/A Toastmasters Club 1741 is the local chapter of Toastmasters International. Its purpose is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which foster self-confidence and personal growth.
