HEBRON – The Hebron Historical Society held its annual meeting and election of officers and trustees on June 24 at the Moody Library, Brighton Hill.

Officers are President L. Bowman Sturtevant, Secretary Janice Bolduc and Trustees Bruce Conant and Nancy Conant.

The success of the recent program, held in conjunction with Minot Historical Society, on the Western Maine Sanatorium prompted discussion to plan another program for this fall as well as thoughts to publish a book on the topic.

There was also discussion on the creation of a Web site and future programs and endeavors for the society this coming year.

The society’s next program will feature Doug Cooper on his research into his relative, the Rev. John Tripp, first minister of Hebron Baptist Church and co-founder of Hebron Academy. The program will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at the Hebron Baptist Church. The public is invited.
