Dear Sun Spots: Thank you for all the information and help you provide to your readers.

I’m hoping I can be on the receiving end of some help this time. I have recently discovered the beauty of lupines and would like to grow some in my yard. Now that the flowers have gone by I was hoping someone in the Auburn, Lewiston or Poland area would be willing to let me cut some of the seed pods so I could have some of these beautiful plants next year.

If you have any to share, please leave a message at 782-8026, and I will call back. Thanks so much. – Robin St. Jean, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: I wanted to make pickles this year, and my cukes didn’t do well. Is there anyone within 25 minutes of Jay that has some reasonably to sell? If so, please call me at 645-3066. – No Name, Jay.

Dear Sun Spots: My husband and I received a gift certificate for $50 for Christmas to the Iron Rail in Mechanic Falls. Due to health and medical reasons, we did not go there until April, only to find that they had closed in March until further notice.

We have checked several times to see if they have reopened and have now found that the restaurant is up for sale. My question is, can we redeem this certificate any place else. I have heard that some restaurants will honor another’s. I feel bad that we did not use this generous gift as intended. Any information you give me would be greatly appreciated. – Hungry in Otisfield.

Answer: Sun Spots checked with the Mechanic Falls town office and unfortunately the numbers provided on the 2005 victualer’s license needed for the business were out of service. The business is for sale and the previous owners are Robert and Christina Stanley.

Dear Sun Spots: I’m trying to find someone in the Lewiston-Auburn area who has a 1965 yearbook from Farmington State Teachers College that I could look at. I would be interested in the ones for 1963 and 1964 also, but primarily the 1965 one. I’m also trying to locate Eddie Boucher from the Lewiston area who used to have a recording studio. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Please contact Ronda-Jo at 782-1958. – Ronda-Jo, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: This column is very helpful, and I have gotten help from it in the past when I lived in Farmington and Livermore Falls but now I live in Freedom.

I am looking for either a knitted or crocheted pattern for a 6-or8-inch skunk. If anyone has one I would appreciate a copy of the pattern. My address is Marjorie Reynolds, 2 Stevens Road. Freedom, ME 04941. Thanks for any help. – Marjorie R., Freedom.
