WILTON – Four Wilton churches will host a community worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at the United Methodist Church on Main Street.

This is the Sunday of the annual Blueberry Festival. Sponsoring the service are the Dryden United Baptist Church; the First Congregational Church and the United Church of Christ; St Luke’s Episcopal Church; and the Wilton United Methodist Church.

Hosting the service is the Rev. Desmond Parker of the Methodist Church. Rev. David Zamboni will deliver the morning message. The Rev. Doug Dunlap will provide the children and youth story. The Rev. Tim Walmer will lead a litany prayer composed for the occasion. A combined choir will sing, and special music will be provided from the Dryden Baptist Church and the Congregational Church. There will be a communion service during worship, with servers from each of the four churches.

Blueberry Festival ecumenical services began in 2003 at the Wilton bicentennial celebration, and have continued since. In the course of a year, the four churches cooperate to support the Wilton Food Pantry, provide free public suppers, hold a Christmas concert, and provide special services during Holy Week.

The public is invited to attend.
