Two local students graduated from Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pa., on May 28.

Aaron Strong of Auburn, son of John Strong and Sarah Strong, graduated with highest honors, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in biology and political science with a minor in political science. Strong is a graduate of Lewiston High School.

Strong is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi. He was a research assistant, wrote for Small Craft Warnings and Spike (literary publications), was a member of Earthlust, Swarthmore Democrats and the Fencing Club.

Strong was active with the Swarthmore Voter Registration Coalition, Why-War?, and the Crum Creek Monitoring Project. He was a member of the rugby club team and fencing club. Strong plans to work as a laboratory technician at the University of Montana.

Mae Tobin-Hochstadt of Lewiston, daughter of Elizabeth Tobin and Steven Hochstadt, has graduated with high honors, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and anthropology with a minor in Russian. She is a graduate of Lewiston High School. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of the Pro-Choice Task Force, the varsity swimming team and the Ultimate Frisbee Club team.
