LEWISTON – Seven local students were named to the dean’s list at Bates College as a result of their scholastic standing during the second semester of the academic year.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must maintain a better than “B+” average for the semester, for a minimum quality point ratio of 3.65.

Auburn: Hannah Giasson, a first-year psychology major, daughter of Katherine Giasson. She is a 2005 graduate of Edward Little High School.

Greene: Cassandra Kirkland, a sophomore mathematics major, daughter of Allan Kirkland and Kathryn Grefer-Kirkland. She is a 2004 graduate of Leavitt Area High School of Turner.

Farmington: Jessie Smith, a first-year student, daughter of Alden and Diane Smith. She is a 2005 graduate of Mt. Blue High School.

Lewiston: Amanda Galban, a first-year student, daughter of Hugo Galban of Lewiston and Susan Galban of LaGrange, Ga. She is a 2005 graduate of LaGrange Academy.

Livermore: Emily Biliouris, a junior psychology major, daughter of William and Susan Biliouris. She is a 2003 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

Oxford: Timothy Maurice, a junior music major, son of William and Linda Maurice. He is a 2003 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Rangeley: Sarah Drosdik, a junior art and visual culture major, daughter of Denise Delpome and William Drosdik of Oquossoc. She studied in New Zealand for fall 2005.
