STRONG – A Children’s Soccer Camp (ages 5-12) is set to begin today and end on August 10 at the Strong Legion Field.

Youngsters will be taught basic soccer skills. Cost is $25. The camp will run from 9-10:30 a.m. daily.

Lead instructors will be Darren Allen, Mt. Abram varsity soccer coach, and JV Coach Jared Dyer, asissted by Stephanie Hood and Kirby Ross.

Baseball league slated

PORTLAND – The Maine High School Fall Baseball League is now accepting registrations for the 2006 fall season. Games will start on Sept. 10, with teams playing double-headers on 6 consecutive Sundays. This year there will be a Central Maine Division and a Southern Maine Division. Division winners will play for the championship.

Team managers or individuals interested in participating should call Mike Coutts at Frozen Ropes at 878-2600.

Pool league forming

AUBURN – An organizational meeting of the Independent Pocket Billiards League is scheduled for Thursday, August 24 at 6 p.m. at New Auburn Social Club.

Rosters can be picked up at Andy’s. Entry fee is $6 per player. The team $24 fee is due on the first night of play, Sept. 7.
