LIVERMORE FALLS – Police arrested a 16-year-old boy Saturday after he threatened another family member with a knife, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Monday.

Officer Maurice Drouin and an ambulance responded to the residence at about 5:15 p.m. after police were alerted to the situation, he said.

The boy was arrested on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, Steward said.

The teen was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington to be checked out for an injury to his left leg, the chief said.

The man the boy went after with a knife swung a baseball bat to hit the knife and the teen was injured in the process, Steward said.

After treatment, the juvenile was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland. The case was turned over to the juvenile system, he said.
