EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) – The Edmonton Oilers signed forward Petr Sykora to a one-year contract on Friday.

Sykora scored 23 goals and had 28 assists last season with Anaheim and the New York Rangers. It was the seventh consecutive NHL season that he scored 20 or more goals, but he was held without a point in four postseason games when the Rangers were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the New Jersey Devils.

The Oilers are Sykora’s fourth NHL team since joining the league in the 1995-96. He was the Devils’ first pick, 18th overall, in the 1995 draft.
