WALLINGFORD, Conn. (AP) – A Wallingford man has died after his vehicle collided with a police cruiser responding to a medical assistance call.

Harry Williams, 80, was declared dead at Yale New Haven Hospital following the accident on Friday, police said.

Officer Andrew Decusati was taken to St. Raphael’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. State police said Sunday the investigation is continuing.

Because a police officer was involved, police Chief Douglas Dortenzio asked the state police to step in.
