WINDSOR – Douglas Colby Gardner, 57, and Joanne Lee Gardner, 49, of Griffin Road, Windsor, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 12, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Doug was born Jan. 7, 1949 in Gardiner, the son of Glennis and Glazer Gardner, the eldest of three sons. He was educated in the Augusta school system, graduating from Cony High School in 1968, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard June from 1968 to 1972. He married Patricia True in 1970, and had two daughters, Amy and Shannon.
Joanne was born on Feb. 2, 1957 in Portland, the daughter of Doris and Anthony Nappi, the third child in a family of four children. She was educated in the Scarborough school system. She graduated from high school in 1975. In 1980, she married Marc Roberge and they had one son, Corey Roberge.
She is survived by her son, Corey Roberge; her mother, Doris Nappi; sisters, Diane Gray and her husband, Mark, Toni Nappi; brother, Michael Nappi and his wife, Anita; and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by daughters, Shannon Gardner and Amy DeRaps, her husband, Matthew and grandsons, Owen and Colby; brothers, Theodore and his wife, Linda and Kenneth and his wife, Barbara; and several nieces and nephews.
