Norway – Mazie Clough Kincaid, 93, of Norway, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Aug. 12.
She was born in Bethel on Aug. 11, 1913, the daughter of Robert and Mabel Bryant Clough. She attended Bethel schools. Mazie married Norman Kincaid on May 31, 1941, and he predeceased her on Jan. 7, 2005.
She worked in her early years as a caregiver for the Hamlin Family in Waterford, McIntyre Farm, Birchrock Camps and Sheppard’s Camp. She moved to Massachusetts, where she worked for the Shorey family and also later at the Hood Rubber Co. in Watertown, Mass.
She and her husband moved to Cincinnati in 1951, where they lived until his retirement in 1992, at which time they moved to Norway. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Norway, the Norway Center Church in North Norway and Hyde Park Community Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. She loved to spend summers on Norway Lake at their cottage sharing many happy times with family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and card games especially bridge, canasta, and 63.
She is survived by a brother, Emerson Clough of West Bethel; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman; sisters, Margaret Merrill, Dorothy Gordon, and Grace Morrill; and brothers, Roger “Pete” Clough and Herman Bryant.
