NORWAY – The annual auction run by Norway’s Business Association is raising money to help a Main Street florist whose shop closed after she had an aneurysm last spring.
Sharon Bouchard, the association’s vice president, said in the past the auction has raised between $800 and $1,500. Half of the proceeds are donated to charities, while the other half is used to pay for downtown events.
The auction will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot next to L.F. Pike and Son clothing shop on Main Street. Bouchard said a rifle scope, a giant stuffed kangaroo, and a gift basket from Mainely Maine and More will be among the items auctioned.
Stina Josephson owned Petal Pushers on Main Street. She is recovering at a rehabilitation center in Effingham, N.H. Extra donations can be made to the Stina Fund at the Rainbow Credit Union.
