Seeking families
World Heritage Student Exchange is seeking local families interested in sharing their homes to provide a high school exchange student a positive encounter with the U.S. The students are screened by World Heritage, are proficient in English, age 15 to 18 and come for the 2006-2007 school year.

Lobster supper
HARPSWELL – Fishing Families for Harpswell will hold its third annual shore dinner fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Mitchell Field, Route 123. A lobster dinner, lobster, mussels, potato, corn, dessert and beverage, is $25. A children’s plate for $5 includes hot dog, corn, potato or chips, dessert and a drink. There is also a vegetarian option.
There is parking close by, including handicapped and senior parking. Lobsters are donated by Harpswell wharves and individual lobstermen.
Last year more than 600 pounds of lobsters were donated. Desserts, specializing in blueberry and chocolate creations, will be provided by the Harpswell elementary school Parent Teacher Organizations.
The money raised supports education in Harpswell. The event funds the Fishing Families for Harpswell Community Scholarship, which last year awarded four $1,000 scholarships to Harpswell students. Some money is also donated to each of the Harpswell PTOs. Last year Fishing Families gave $1,500 to each.
For more information, directions or to prepurchase tickets, call 833-7804. Tickets may be prepurchased for a reduced rate of $22 each if bought before Aug. 20. The event will be held rain or shine under the big tent.
