AIRLINES CUTS: Trying to save money, airlines have cut flights and replaced big planes with smaller aircraft on routes serving small and midsize cities.

PASSENGER IMPACT: Fares are higher and flight options are more limited as a result of the cuts at regional airports.

AIRPORT IMPACT: Fewer passengers at regional airports means they are collecting less revenue on landing fees and at their parking lots.
