JAY – The Jay High School Class of 1950 held its 56th reunion at a luncheon on Aug. 18 at LaFleur’s Restaurant. The class held a social hour followed by lunch. Maurice Ouellette of Auburn was MC.

A moment of silence was held for the nine deceased members of the class. A short class meeting was held in which a message from William “Billy” Ouellette, who lives in California, was read by the chairman.

The door prize, a hand-painted pitcher filled with seasonal flowers, was won by Laurette Poulin. Another prize, a lined basket filled with home-made jelly and ham, was won by Bertha Pomerleau.

Clarendon “Bing” Crosby and his wife, Nancy, donated one of their CDs, which was raffled and won by Maurice Duguay. The money earned went into the class fund. The class congratulated Bing for having been inducted into the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame.

After lunch, entertainment was provided by the Crosbys and the class ode was sung. Adrian “Drig” Legere accompanied them with two songs on his harmonica. Priscillien “Pete” Henry and his wife, Elaine, entertained by tap dancing and doing Canadian clogging.

Attending were Maurice and Ann Ouellette, Priscillien and Elaine Henry, Adrian and Mary-Lou Rheaume Legere, Richard and Therese Chicoine McKenna, Gerard and Bertha Pomerleau, Clarendon and Nancy Crosby, Robert and Armance Turmel Rich, Norman and Barbara Ouellette, Anita Blais Marchetti, Olive Dubord, Laurette Poulin, Eddie Legere, Maurice Duguay and Aline Fournier.
