AUBURN – A Jay teenager injured in a Route 4 car crash Monday afternoon was recovering at a Lewiston hospital a day later.

Samuel Farrington, 18, was listed in fair condition at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to a hospital spokesman. Farrington had been listed as critical the night before.

Police said Farrington lost control of his car, went airborne and crashed into the woods on Route 4 near Gammon Landscape Nursery.

The crash remained under investigation on Tuesday.
