RUMFORD – A 62-year-old Rumford man was treated and released from Rumford Hospital on Wednesday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer truck.

Police officer Tracey Higley said Frank Koris was driving his 2006 Honda motorcycle down Falls Hill on Route 2 about 1 p.m. when he apparently crossed the center line and made contact with the rear axle of a 1998 International truck driven by Emile Veer of Quebec.

Koris was taken to the hospital by Med-Care Ambulance Service where he was treated and released later in the afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Higley estimated damage to the motorcycle at about $3,000. The truck, owned by Marcel Gilbert Transport Inc. of St. Georges, Quebec, was not damaged.

An interpreter from World Wide Language Resources, Rumford, assisted during the investigation, Higley said.

Traffic control was provided by firefighters.
