JAY – George Quirrion, 68, of Franklin Road, Jay, died early Tuesday, Sept. 5, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1937, at Shuy Corner in Livermore, a son of Fred and Bertha (Gross) Quirrion and received his education in Wilton schools.
On Dec. 6, 1958, he married Avis Webber in East Wilton. He worked at G.H. Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton for more than 30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing gatherings at his home and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Avis of Jay; a son, George Quirrion II and his wife, Patti, of Jay; a daughter, Cheryl Remick and her husband, Martell, of North Jay; two brothers, Earl Quirrion and Fred Quirrion Jr., both of Dryden; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Ronald in 1986; and a sister, Virginia Holland in 1987.
