FRYEBURG – Lanni Kelly, a State House candidate from Windham, represented Linda Brawn, president of the Maine Federation of Republican Women, at the Aug. 8 meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds.
Kelly addressed the gathering following a dinner served by the Fryeburg Republican Town Committee.
Chairman Erlon Jones of Fryeburg discussed plans for the fall during the business meeting, beginning with the opening of county headquarters on Sept. 6 in South Paris with Rep. Josh Tardy as featured speaker.
Jones also mentioned a number of fundraisers, including one at Ted and Eleanor Heidrich’s home in Oxford on Aug. 26 and a pig roast at Rob Cameron’s home in Rumford on Sept. 9.
Congressional candidate Scott D’Amboise of Livermore Falls reported on his campaign in the Second District.
Officeholders present included Oxford County Sheriff Lloyd “Skip” Herrick, Oxford County Register of Probate Tom Windsor, State Senator Dave Hastings, Fryeburg, Rep. Arlan Jodrey, Bethel, Rep. Roberta Muese, Fryeburg, and Rep. Bruce Hanley, Paris.
Also present were State Senate candidate Len Greaney of Rumford, State House of Representatives candidate Nancy J. Bessey of Rangeley, Oxford County Sheriff candidate Chris Wainwright of Canton and County Treasurer candidate Norman K. Ferguson of Hanover.
The next meeting was set for Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Rumford Grange, Route 2, Rumford Center. There will be a 5:30 p.m. social hour, 6:30 dinner and a business meeting preceded by the speaker for the evening, Lucas Caron of Sen. Olympia Snowe’s U.S. Senate campaign. All interested Republicans are invited.
The committee will also meet on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Franklin Grange, Route 26, Bryant Pond.
