AUBURN – Jane Leslie Lovejoy, 57, of 6 Olive St., Saco, died Saturday, Sept. 2, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1949, in Rumford, a daughter of Robert and Hazel Parker.
She enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1973, serving in Germany as a Medical Corpsman. She joined the U.S. Army Reserve (351st General Hospital) in Saco, and there she served from August 1975 to July 1987 retiring as a Sergeant First Class (Supply Technician and Practical Nurse). She received several awards: The National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal and the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon of which she received three.
