The Buckfield “Bucks” High School football team is one of the best in the area, but no one beside the teams it plays even seems to know the team exists.

The team parted from the Dirigo team and has come a long way toward greatness. Even though the team had a record of eight wins and one loss last year, it seems to get little recognition from peers, and certainly none from the adults in town. It seems that soccer is more important.

The boys played their first game of this year’s season against Boothbay, at Boothbay, and won 44-0. The kids work hard and I think they deserve to be noticed.

It is going to be another good year for them.
