Honestly, I don’t know who is in charge of streets and traffic lights in the city.
The red light on Court Street on the very top of the hill is going to cause a lot of problems this winter. Vehicles going East and West on that street in a snowstorm will have a very bad time being stopped by the light and then trying to go when the light turns green. Talk about an accident waiting to happen.
Maybe we can heat the street with a $5 million bond that’s been so popular with our Good Old Boys and the city manager? When someone gets killed in an accident then they will say, gee, maybe we don’t need that light.
I also wonder whose idea it was to build the new school on Park Street. Can two buses even pass on that street?
Maybe, with another $5 million bond, we can supply helicopter service for the students. Maybe a $5 million bond won’t be enough for that service. We can have another $5 million bond to build a four-lane road to the new school.
After all, listening to our city manager, $5 million bonds don’t cost the taxpayers much money. It comes from the state of Maine. Free money, think about it, isn’t it great? Maybe the Good Old Boys and the city manager can win the lottery.
Well, with a new city council coming in the fall, maybe we will get your old city of Auburn back the way it should be.
