AUGUSTA (AP) – Eleven gubernatorial nominees won approval Monday at a Senate confirmation session. Leading the list was the confirmation of Michael Friedman of Bangor for a position on the Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices.

The vote by the Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee was unanimous. Friedman will fill a vacancy that has existed for more than a year and become the only independent on a panel that now includes two Democrats and two Republicans.
