Our country will never be the same. More than 3,000 dead on Sept. 11, 2001, two gigantic buildings destroyed, hundreds of people injured, and a new enemy willing to die for so-called martyrdom for their cause.

The result for our country is we are fighting terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. Why? Because President Bush and our government believe that if we do not fight there, our enemies will come back here.

Now, let us pause for a moment. Many Americans claim some form of Christianity. Some are Catholics, others evangelicals, Pentecostals, Baptists, Methodists and many others. So let us all do what we did that day five years ago – pray. Pray for peace. We have tried everything else.

Let us remember what the Bible taught us: “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
