PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – A 64-year-old Portsmouth man says he was scammed by a woman working for an escort service and didn’t solicit sex with her.
Calvin Curington tried to get a Portsmouth District Court judge to throw out evidence Tuesday from an interview he gave police last April. But the judge allowed it.
In the interview, Curington told a detective he hired a woman from a Manchester escort service, thinking the date would lead to sex. The woman told police Curington had asked her for sex.
He says now that he paid the woman $200 up front, and she described what that would buy. When he said he wasn’t satisfied and asked for his money back, she walked out the door. He says when he was interviewed by police, he thought he was the victim of a scam, not a suspect.
