SKOWHEGAN – Sandy Moloney headed in the only goal of the game late in the first half to lead Mt. Blue to a 1-0 victory over Skowhegan on Thursday.
Abby Martion set up the goal with a perfect centering pass. Moloney directed the ball over the outstretched hands of Skowhegan goalie Crystal Johnson in the 28th minute.
Caitlin Scott stopped five shots to earn the shutout for Mt. Blue (3-2).
Johnson finished with eight saves for the Indians (0-4-1).
Oak Hill 2, Belfast 0
BELFAST – Cadie Rodrigue converted a penalty kick in the second half and Ariel Boulette added another goal late to lift Oak Hill to a 2-0 win in KVAC soccer action Thursday.
Skye Boulette had the lone assist for the Raiders (3-2).
Cortney Seguin turned aside eight shots for the shutout victory.
Mt. Abram 9, Madison 0
SALEM – Hannah James scored three goals as Mt. Abram throttled Madison 9-0 in MVC girls’ soccer action Thursday.
The Roadrunners (4-0-1) pounded out seven goals in the last 17 minutes of the first half to take an 8-0 lead into intermission.
Rebecca London contributed a pair of goals, while Loghan Walker, Desiree Abbott, Maria Parrett and Rebecca Fullerton each netted one in the win.
Goalie Noelle Lake only had to repel one shot for Mt. Abram, while Emily Berry defended 17 shots for the Bulldogs (0-5).
Lisbon 0, Dirigo 0
LISBON – Goalies Sam Purcell and Lanette Bryant matched each other shot for shot in the nets Thursday as Lisbon and Dirigo played to a 0-0 tie.
Both teams had a few scoring opportunities in regulation time, but most of the action during the overtime periods was spent in the midfield.
Purcell had eight saves for Lisbon (3-1-1), while Bryant stopped six shots for Dirigo (3-0-2).
Erskine 4, Leavitt 1
TURNER – Jessica St. Armand scored a pair of goals to lead Erskine to a 4-1 victory over Leavitt in KVAC girls’ soccer action.
Arrian Kumlangngam and Mariah Gleaton also scored for the Eagles (4-1).
Erin Paige lofted a shot into the top left corner from 18 yards out with 33 minutes remaining in the game to make it 3-1 for the Hornets (1-4).
St. Armand’s second goal ten minutes later put the game out of reach, though.
Kat Rothe made 13 saves for Leavitt. Ericka Malley stopped six Leavitt shots in the win.
Winthrop 2, Mtn. Valley 1
RUMFORD – Catherine Fortin tapped in the game-winner late in the second half to lift Winthrop to a 2-1 win over Mountain Valley on Thursday.
The Falcons (0-4) drew first blook when Terissa Ridge found the back of the net in the first half.
Sarah Pacheco hit the equalizer midway through the second half for the Ramblers (2-3), and Fortin’s goal put the Ramblers ahead for good down the stretch.
Goalie Christina Dunn made seven saves for Mountain Valley, while Karri McPherson stopped 15 shots in the win.
Mt. Ararat 1, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – Danielle Plourde broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal as Mt. Ararat remained undefeated with a 1-0 victory over Lewiston in girls’ soccer. Plourde’s goal came with 28:47 remaining in the game, and the Blue Devils could not score an equalizer, managing just four shots in the game.
Katie Cobb made ten saves for Lewiston (1-4), and Toby Crispin had a standout game on defense for the Blue Devils.
