TURNER – SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education is offering a variety of classes this fall.
Math: For students working toward a high school or General Educational Development diploma, there are day and evening sessions in math, algebra, geometry and GED math preparation. Students will be scheduled for class according to their particular requirement.
“U.S. History, Government, World Studies”: Explore the United States and other countries. The class can be taken for one high school credit and will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays.
“Evening English”: The class is for anyone working toward their diploma or GED in reading and/or writing. It is also a refresher course for the workplace in basic English/grammar skills.
“Chemistry with Lab”: The 13-week class is for students who have not had chemistry before and covers basic concepts and mathematical approaches. Some algebra would be helpful.
“General Biology with Lab”: Students enrolled in the class will study the cellular process, organismal biology, genetics, ecology and the environment.
Lab time, as well as video presentations, will be part of the class.
The 10-week course is appropriate for individuals who want to apply to college or are looking for diploma credit.
English as a Second Language and Conversational English classes are also available.
In addition to the academic offerings, there are classes in vocational education, computer technology, language study, healthy and safety, plus personal enrichment.
