JAY – Police are investigating a burglary that occurred either late Wednesday or early Thursday at Franchetti’s Home Town Variety on Main Street.
An undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes was taken, police officer Russell Adams said Thursday.
It was a forced entry, he said.
Owner Fred Franchetti discovered the break-in when he went in at 6:45 a.m., he said.
Damage to the doors was estimated at $100, Adams said, adding that physical evidence was collected at the scene, he said.
