LEWISTON – A new and innovative program called Points for Progress is under way for residents of the Lewiston Housing Authority and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher holders.

The points accumulated from the accomplishment of goals such as job training, college enrollment, home ownership and participation in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program and the Family Development Account can result in getting a new computer and one year’s Internet access.

Informational sessions will be offered on such programs as buying or building a home, saving money and personal asset development as follows:

River Valley Community Center, Tuesdays, Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 28, at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (formerly Tall Pines).

B Street Community Center, Thursdays, Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 30, at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., located at the corner of Bates and Birch streets.

Interested individuals are asked to RSVP to Reta Herrick, 783-8539 or [email protected], or Dave Projansky, 783-1423, or [email protected].
