AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will present “Balancing Life, Work and Stress” (CCS 065-21) from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.

The workshop will get to the heart of what stress is, explore the causes of stress in work and personal environments and provide participants with ways to check their stress levels and cope with their stressors. The importance of personal wellness in preventing stress will also be discussed.

“Stress is a feature of modern life, everyone experiences it,” said Laura June Robinson, workshop facilitator. “We all know what it feels like when life’s demands seem to get the best of us, whether it’s a demanding job, pursuing an education, looking after a home and family, or any combination of those demands. This workshop will help you cope with your stress and give you tools to manage it.”

Robinson is a training coordinator for Tri-County Mental Health Services. During the past 15 years, she has facilitated learning opportunities for a wide variety of government agencies, private organizations, community groups and specialized audiences.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Vermont College of Norwich University with concentrations in psychology, creative writing, visual art, and community outreach education.

The cost is $85 and includes materials. For more information or to register, contact Jennifer Lyons at Central Maine Community College at 755-5280 or 1-800-891-2002, ext. 280, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.cmcc.edu/training.
