HERMON (AP) – Maine Warden Service divers on Friday recovered the body of a man after an overturned canoe was found on Black Stream. The body of Glendon Henderson, 62, of Newburgh, was located by divers in 9 feet of water shortly before 11 a.m., said Mark Latti, spokesman for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Henderson was reported overdue around midnight, and the canoe and a lifejacket were found at 1:15 a.m. Friday, Latti said.

Volunteer firefighters from Hermon and sheriff’s deputies joined wardens in searching until 4 a.m., Latti said. The search resumed at daybreak and divers went into the water at 10 a.m., the spokesman said.
