LEWISTON – The Maine Event Cheer and Dance Training Center will offer a free learn-to-cheer program from October through April, open to boys and girls between the ages of 2 and 6.

Each participant will be required to pay a yearly registration fee of $45 and will receive a Maine Event Cheer T-shirt with the registration fee.

Learn to Cheer will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Participants will learn basic cheer and tumbling skills. They will also work on a routine to be shown at Maine Event’s annual Friends and Family Exhibition in April.

Maine Event offers other programs for various ages and abilities, including a competitive tiny cheer program for ages 3 to 5.

Maine Event is accepting registrations for its All-Star Dance Teams and still has a few positions available on the older All-Star Cheer teams. It also offers open tumbling for cheerleaders who wish to improve their skills as they get ready for their cheer season.
