MECHANIC FALLS – Elm Street School is planning to celebrate International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 4. The event is being organized by members of Elm Street School’s Wellness Team.

Grades kindergarten through eight students will participate in an assembly prior to the walk where safety concerns will be reviewed. Students will be reminded how to safely walk, bike, skateboard and rollerblade to school.

On the day of the walk, students wishing to participate will be transported to Pleasant View Trailer Park on Elm Street. Staff members will accompany students from the trailer park to school.

Upon arriving at school, students will be greeted by staff volunteers and will receive a sticker and a bracelet for participating in the event.
