The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency is continuing to investigate marijuana growing efforts in Otisfield, West Paris, Andover and Waterford, said Cpl. Chancey Libby of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Police arrested a 17-year-old after four marijuana plants were found in West Paris on Sept. 22, Libby said.

In addition, Nicholas Palmer, 23, of 233 Ahonen Road, Otisfield, was arrested Sunday on five separate warrants from Paris District Court. They included unpaid fines for possession of antlerless deer, falsifying physical evidence and three warrants for unpaid fines for operating after suspension, according to jail records.

Palmer had previously been summonsed to court on charges of cultivating marijuana after police found about 50 marijuana plants on his property, and on illegal fish charges.

Palmer was issued a summons by Game Warden Stephen Allarie earlier last week on a charge of illegally stocking his neighbor’s private pond with bass and pickerel, according to Libby.

Police had also found about 50 more plants down the street at Stephen Holden’s residence. Holden, 44, of 251 Ahonen Road, was arrested Sept. 26.

A grand jury will decide whether to indict Holden and Palmer Wednesday.

Police continue to seek suspects on a separate eradication. On Sept. 25, agency officials found 96 marijuana plants in Andover and Waterford. No one has been arrested though Libby said he has a suspect.

Marijuana plants are valued at about $1,000 a piece, Libby said.
