LISBON – Kelly Bourgoin threaded a needle to score the game-clincher as Lisbon toppled Winthrop 2-1 in MVC field hockey action Wednesday.

The Greyhounds (5-4) prevented any quality shots, and gave their front line a few more scoring opportunities. Katy Fitzgerald scored from the right side in the first half to give Lisbon a 1-0 lead at the break.

Brittany Gaudet secured a goal in the second half for the Ramblers (6-3-1) to cut deficit in half.

Liv. Falls 6, Mtn. Valley 0

LIVERMORE FALLS – Rachel Ventrella registered a hat trick to lead Livermore Falls to a 6-0 rout over Mountain Valley.

Rebecca Leclerc, Whitney McDaniel and Marjorie DeBrosky also tallied for the Andies (11-1). Sam Whiting made fives saves in net to preserve the shutout.

Kim Clark handled netkeeping chores for the Falcons (4-5-2), turning away 11 shots.

Hebron 2, Skowhegan 1

HEBRON – Maria Kapernekas scored a goal and an assist to lead the Hebron varsity to a 2-1 win over the Skowhegan freshmen. Kelly Bowler also scored for Hebron (4-1).

Rockland 1, Oak Hill 0

ROCKLAND – Kristen Harjula converted a pass from Baillie Boggs at the 29:15 mark of the first half to lift Rockland to a 1-0 victory over Oak Hill.

Brittany Ross made 12 saves in net to record the shutout. Cortney Seguin turned aside 12 shots in net for the Raiders (3-7-1).

CVA 2, Hebron 0

HEBRON – Sophie LeBlanc scored on two breakaways late in the second half to give Carrabassett Valley a 2-0 victory over Hebron.

The Lumberjacks (2-1-2) came out with great intensity, but after controlling every aspect of the game for 65 minutes, Hebron was unable to put the ball into the back of the net.

Hebron goalie Steph Roy kept her team in the game with seven saves. Kristen Waddle made 13 saves for CVA (5-0).

Oxford Hills 2, Leavitt 0

SOUTH PARIS – Terry Bunce scored the game-opening goal as Oxford Hills grabbed a 2-0 win over Leavitt.

Whitney Linindoll conveyed a nice through-ball to Bunce, who finished with a tally into the far corner for the Vikings (7-5) needed. Kari Pelletier also scored for Oxford Hills.
