NORWAY – Stephens Volunteer Services thrift shop will hold its annual coat sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12, 13 and 14, at its Danforth Street location. The sale will be held during business hours, which have changed for the winter.
The shop is open Thursday and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stephens Volunteer Services is part of Stephens Memorial Hospital, which is an affiliate of Western Maine Health, part of the Maine Health family.
GOP speaker
WOODSTOCK – Steve Michaud, Maine Hospital Association chairman, will be the speaker at the Tuesday, Oct. 10, meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee at Franklin Grange.
Michaud will address challenges faced by Maine’s hospitals. The meeting will begin with a 5:30 p.m. social hour followed by a 6:30 p.m. Grange supper and a brief business meeting and the presentation.
There will also be reports on campaigns and updates on the party headquarters in South Paris and Rumford. All area Republicans and those interested in helping Oxford County candidates with their campaigns are welcome.
The next meeting will focus on the 2006 election results and will be held on Nov. 14 at the Norway Congregational Church.
