OLD ORCHARD BEACH – The fourth show of the marching band season, sponsored by the Maine Band Directors Association Inc., was held Oct. 14 at Old Orchard Beach High School.
The 11 high school bands performing were Triton Regional High School of Byfield, Mass., Biddeford, Edward Little, Lawrence, Leavitt, Lewiston, Portsmouth, Sanford, Wells, Westbrook and host, Old Orchard Beach.
Lawrence, Lewiston and Wells high schools received an overall rating of one star. Lawrence High School received three stars for drum major. Lewiston and Wells received two stars for drum major and music, and Lewiston also received two stars for color guard.
Biddeford, Edward Little, Leavitt, Old Orchard Beach, Sanford, Triton and Westbrook high schools received an overall rating of two stars. Leavitt, Old Orchard Beach and Westbrook received three stars for color guard. Portsmouth High School received an overall rating of three stars.
The last regular season show of the season will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Portsmouth High School. The 23rd annual marching band finals will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Biddeford High School. Thirteen bands from Maine and New Hampshire will perform.
