NEW GLOUCESTER – Sabbathday Lake Grange 365 met Oct. 13 when it was announced that the booth at Cumberland Fair won first place. The Women’s Activities Committee donated a bag of handmade mittens to the State Women’s Activities Committee to sell.
Community service reported that dictionaries for the third-graders at the Dunn School have arrived and they will be presented.
Two Boy Scouts are planning Eagle Scout projects at the Grange hall. Adam Theriault will repair the storage area in the rear and Tyler Vachon will build a new and improved ramp for easier access.
Members voted to donate to educational aid and the Howe’s Nurses State Grange scholarship. The hall was vandalized when a front window was shot repeatedly with a BB gun. The police were called.
Work has started on the annual turkey supper on Saturday, Oct. 28. Lecturer Linda Cox announced that the lecturer’s fund will donate a turkey for the supper. Members will meet in the kitchen during January and February to save fuel.
Members discussed the resolutions for State Grange. Master Steven Haycock and Overseer Norma Meserve were to be delegates to State Grange. A silver march was held and everyone was a winner.
The holiday fair will be on Saturday, Dec. 2. Anyone interested on renting a table should call Pam Dyer at 657-4612.
