I take issue with the comments of Reginald B. Savage Sr. in his letter of Oct. 16. He complains about posting of land by “outsiders.”
I am “from away,” and I am mightily tired of taking the rap for land posting. I have lived here almost 20 years, and have never posted my land, neither the four acres on which my home is built, nor the 40 acres of woodland which we recently sold. The current owner has not and will not post that land.
The property right next to us is posted, and the owner is a native. In fact, most of the posted land in our neighborhood is owned by natives, and the vast majority of “outsiders” I know have never posted their land.
I like to roam the woods and waterways, too, and I leave only footprints.
Savage should get his facts straight before he complains about flatlanders.
