LEWISTON – The Muscular Dystrophy Association received more than $8,100 from the Lewiston Fire Department and city of Lewiston “Fill the Boot” campaign.

The fire department, led by Rick Cailler, Phillip Julian and supported by Chief Paul M. Leclair, went out in force all summer to “Fill The Boot” for MDA.

The money raised will enable the association to continue to provide life-enhancing services for adults and children with neuromuscular disease in the community. That includes health care at hospital-affiliated MDA clinics, support groups, summer camps and assistance in buying equipment like wheelchairs and leg braces as well as research.

For more information, call the local MDA office at 854-3749, or visit www.mdausa.org.
