AUBURN – Police released surveillance camera footage from inside BJ’s Wholesale Club on Thursday that shows a man wanted for robbing the store and tying up three employees.
In the grainy image, he appears to be wearing camouflage over his head and face, a tan coat and sunglasses. It’s time-stamped 11:31 p.m. Tuesday.
Lt. Jason Moen said he hoped someone would see the image and contact police with tips to the suspect’s identity.
Police say the man came into the store on Mt. Auburn Avenue, showed a gun, tied up two female employees, then tied up an outside gas pump attendant before driving off in the attendant’s truck with an undisclosed amount of money. The truck was recovered nearby Wednesday.
None of the employees was hurt, police said.
“The investigation is still unfolding. We’ve been interviewing people all day and still pouring over evidence,” Lt. Moen said.
Arlo West, an Auburn man who owns Creative Forensic Services and has worked on high-profile court cases, helped police clean up the camera footage and turn it into stills, Moen said.
