PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -Brett Skinner scored the only goal in the post-overtime shootout, leading the Portland Pirates past the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 Friday in the American Hockey League.

Colby Genoway scored a goal and added an assist for the Pirates (7-3-0-1), while Martin St. Pierre did the same for the Admirals (7-0-1-1).

The game was tied at the first intermission, after Ryan Carter scored for Portland and St. Pierre answered for the Admirals.

Genoway sent the Pirates ahead 2-1 lead early in the second period, but Troy Brouwer tallied Norfolk’s equalizer on the power play 2:34 into the third.

Portland’s Michael Leighton notched 20 saves in the win, while Norfolk’s Corey Crawford stopped 33 shots in the loss.
