1. I want to work on legislation for the common good as a voice for ordinary people. My experience as a parent, an activist in the community, and an employee in both corporate and nonprofit organizations make me uniquely qualified to serve my district.
2. There are several high priority items on my list. Fair taxes and health care for all are right at the top.
3. I believe TABOR will tamper with county and local governments’ ability to be flexible with needs, especially unexpected ones. Too few could control whether changes are able to be made. I oppose TABOR though I support change to the tax law, particularly for fairer taxes for small business and regular people.
4. I have always supported anti-discrimination. Maine people don’t want to discriminate against law-abiding citizens and I have always supported a woman’s right to choose and control her own body. I hope these are not major issues during this campaign.
5. Dirigo Health has great potential and I want to see it succeed. It will take some fixing but I, for one, would not have health insurance if Dirigo were not there. Let’s fix it.
